Superchips 3815 update

Founded in England in 1983, Superchips was one of the first companies to specialize in tuning vehicles with computer-controlled fuel-injection systems. I'd like to play with the spark advance on my Flashpaq a bit just to play with it and see.Superchips of Sanford, Florida is the industry leader in automotive tuning for late model cars, Jeeps, and trucks. My theory is that the lower engine temperature reduces the warpage in the plenum plate and thus minimizes the leak. I put in a 160 degree thermostat in it and I don't think its ever knocked since, even with regular gas like I said. When I first got it, it would occasionally knock under load after it had been running for a while, particularly at idle. I've never driven another niner so I don't have a "seat of the pants" dyno to compare to either. It's called "FastR" if anyone is curious. It's totally possible that the free app I downloaded on my phone for the 0-60 time isn't super accurate. Most of Calgary (except for the downtown area) is right around that altitude. I skipped to the conclusion section, and the analysis is based on carbureted engines, but yeah it confirms that over 1200 meters in elevation seems to have a significant effect on the decrease of spark knock. What can you tuner affectionatos tell me about advancing the spark timing on these things?Ĭlick to expand. Thanks for attaching that paper. The gas stations around here use 92 octane for premium. Overall I'd say it's a pretty happy healthy magnum engine. Stomping on it hard up to redline with premium gas and the 91 octane Superchips tune yielded no spark knock. The previous owner said he didn't know either, only that he had been running 87 with no problems. As for why there was 87 in it in the first place, I'm not sure if someone detuned the ECU before I got it, but it had never needed anything more than regular gas before I got the power programmer. When I first flashed it to the 91 octane tune I drove it quite a ways to a gas station with the 87 octane gas that was in it and accelerating at 2/3 throttle with it totally warmed up I didn't hear any spark knock except for maybe once or twice but its hard to say. I don't have any detonation issues going into this. I haven't been needing to top up the oil between oil changes but I looked down the TB after I had been running it last week and there is some oil residue and I could smell oil vapor. The Jeep is totally stock except for a K&N cold air intake, platinum plugs, and an MSD coil from the previous owner. I have it on the 91 octane performance tune but noticed you can also manually advance the spark timing in small increments. I just got an older Superchips 3815 Flashpaq tuner for my 5.9 limited.
